	On Sunday, April 27th, Ella Newmiller and her family attended church at Edenton Street United Methodist, in Raleigh, as they do each week.  Ella is in my son Scott's, 4 year old Sunday School class.  Ella did not feel well that evening.  Her parents, Renae and Mark, took her to an urgent care facility.  On Monday, they found themselves at UNC Hospitals, being faced with the news that their precious daughter has an inoperable brain tumor.  It is located at the base of her brain, inside the brain stem.   Friday, May 2nd, was Ella's 5th birthday.  Friends at Edenton Street pulled together an amazing celebration for 'Princess Ella'.  She arrived in a horse drawn carriage and was greeted by over 100 friends dressed in their royal best.  'Mr. and Miss Wolf' from NC State, plus 'Stormy', from the Carolina Hurricanes joined in the celebration.  There was a DJ,  beauty queens, bubbles, balloons and presents.   Ella's mother, Renae, commented, 'We don't need meals or errands.  The only thing we really need is PRAYER.'  Renae asked me to tell friends, 'even if they don't know Ella', to please pray.  She asked that those friends ask 10 friends (even if they don't know the Newmillers) to pray.  So, I am asking you to pray daily for Ella Newmiller, for the oncologists and physicians directing her care, for her parents, Renae and Mark, and for her brother Jack (2nd grade).  Pray for God's healing hand.  Pray for both direction and comfort for Ella's family.  Also pray for strength and courage for Ella.  Additionally, if you feel led, please forward this prayer request to friends.   I am attaching a photo of Ella from Friday's 5th birthday celebration.  If you would like updates on Ella, please log onto her care page at  www.carepages.com , under Ella Newmiller.  There are simple prompts to help you log on.  Thanks~ with love, Louise           <hr size=2 width="100%" align=center> I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. As most of you know my father has been very sick for a couple of months and we had no idea what was wrong with him. UNC labeled him as the mystery man because they couldnt figure out what was going on with him. The doctors at the cancer center at Alamance Regional discovered that he had cancer. He has two types of cancer. The cancer they found in his rectum is the kind that is slow growing and really doesnt spread to other areas of the body. They also found cancer in his liver which is the type that spreads fast, the doctor said that it is very rare that this cancer starts in the liver, it starts somewhere else and then spreads to the liver, and other organs. They suspect he may have cancer in his lungs because there has been some spots that has shown up on xrays, but cant say 100% because they are unable to do a biopsy of his lungs because his lungs are in really bad shape and its too much of a risk. The also suspect that he may have cancer in his bones.

For those of you that has ever met my father you know that he is a very strong man and doesnt let a whole lot keep him down. All of this sickness has really taken a toll on him and his spirit. He is very weak and in alot of pain and has not been able to eat much of anything for the past week.  

They are supposed to start chemo today, and his doctor said that she has seen people older than my father and in worse shape that he is in respond well to the treatment and recover fully.

Please keep my father and my family in your prayers.

My name is Gary Hogan. Some of you receiving this know me, some  do not.  My wife, Cindy, is 32 years old and has just been diagnosed 3 days ago with stage 4 cervical cancer and her chances for survival are very slim.   She was pregnant with our second child and had miscarried recently at 3 months, and now we know why. This is a request for you to for ward this e-mail to every one you know asking for prayer. The more people that pray for her to be healed, the better.

Second Prayer Request

 

This is a prayer request for Shannon Wigginton who is Vickie Bell's daughter.  Vickie is secretary at Salvation Army.  About 3 days ago, it was discovered that Shannon had a severe infection in her heart.  She is intensive care at University of Kentucky Hospital.  Vickie and all her family are there with her.  It was a very rare thing to happen The only hope seemed to be a heart transplant but they were told last night that her heart was completely damaged but that she was too sick and unstable to even be put on the heart transplant list.

 

Many people have been praying for Shannon.

 

God who made Shannon's heart has done a miracle.

We just got word that Shannon has done a complete turn around!  The Doctors are taking the balloon out of the heart today and decreasing medications.  The draining tube from around her heart should be removed this afternoon.  She will be taken off the ventilator tomorrow.  Shannon will be in the hospital at least another week.  The virus has run it's course, and they will start her on medication to heal her heart.  No Heart transplant!

 

Shannon still needs our prayers.  She still has a long way to heal but the healing has started.  PRAISE THE LORD! 

 

Please continue to pray for Shannon, her husband Lee and their 2 year old little boy.  Pray for Vickie and her family as they are in  Kentucky with Shannon at the hospital.
