Sorry.....

It has definitely been a long time since I have posted, and I do apologize.  With Christmas right around the corner things are so busy.  We are performing the drama "The Midnight Cry" at our church on December 18 and 19, so between my normal obligations and play practices and everything I have been extremely busy!  I hope you all are looking forward to a wonderful Christmas.  Let us not forget that this holiday is not about gifts or Santa or Jingle Bells.  This is the birthday of our Lord and Savior.  The One who died so that you and I could have life.  As Brother Ricky says:  "The Winner of Every Battle".  That's our Jesus!  While you are giving gifts, please make sure you give your gift to the Lord.  After all, it is HIS birthday....He should be the one getting presents!!  You might say "But what can I give Jesus?  How can I give Him a gift?".  The answer is simple:  give of yourself.  Your time, your talents, or your money.  Help someone less fortunate than you.  If you will stop and look around you it won't take you very long to find someone that could benefit from your help.  Visit a nursing home and share the Christmas Spirit with some elderly people who may not have family that visits them.  Volunteer at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter to help provide a meal for someone who doesn't have the option of a big family Christmas dinner.  If you can spare the money, you could buy some small gifts or groceries for a family in need.  There are many ways you can give to the Lord, but most of them take a little bit more effort than going to the local Wal-Mart.  Sometimes we get so caught up with our own hectic life that we fail to notice the circumstances of others around us.  But Jesus plainly said in Matthew 25:45 (NASB)  "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me."  So when we have a chance to help someone else and we neglect to do so, it is the same as neglecting Jesus.  This Christmas, give a gift to the Lord....by doing something for someone else.  Just think of the wonderful gift God has already given you!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season and a blessed and happy New Year.  I will post again as soon as time permits, but until next time.....be blessed!

Love,
Stephanie
